Gov. Bob McDonnell appointed Williamsburg resident Robert Beck to the Virginia Economic Development Partnership Board of Directors on Friday.
Beck is president of The Beck Company, a 12-property hotel and restaurant development and management company. The Beck Company owns and manages hotels throughout Virginia, including the historic Craddock Terry Hotel in Lynchburg. Beck built the company’s first hotel property in Chesapeake in 1970.
Beck has served on several Governor-appointed Executive boards and committees. As a member of the Virginia Economic Development Partnership Board of Directors, he will oversee the work of the Economic Development Partnership, which works to attract new businesses to Virginia, foster international trade growth and encourage the expansion of existing Virginia businesses.
