Hometown: Breast Health Group Looking for Calendar Sponsors

June 29th, 2012 by WY Daily Staff

The nonprofit BeyondBoobs! Is looking for sponsors for its upcoming 2013 calendar.

The calendar is a breast health manual, too, and it is the nonprofit’s main educational tool and funding source for its education and support programs, according to a press release. Sponsorships can be purchased online through July 9.

Mary Beth Gibson, cofounder of the five-year-old organization, said “the 2013 calendar will feature young survivors from Washington, D.C. to Moyock, NC, with the theme ‘Each of Us is A Masterpiece.’” Brian Freer, BeyondBoobs! board member and publisher of the Health Journals, is the photographer for the calendar.

“The new look of the calendar will reflect the sassy and quirky spirit for which the organization has become known,” said Rene Bowditch, the nonprofit’s other cofounder. “Not only are the models beautiful and their stories touching, the calendar contains many pages of information that will motivate all women (and men) to embrace healthy, inspired living and may just save a life in the process.”

The nonprofit is saving the rest of the details about the calendar for its launch on September 15 at the Hellenic Center in Williamsburg. Tickets are available for purchase for $75. Calendars can be pre-ordered for $20.

Sponsorship levels for the 2013 calendar range from Training Bra ($100) to DD Cup ($5000) with other cup sizes in between. A Buy a Day program is also available, which gives contributors the chance to reserve a day in the calendar for $50. This option can be used to recognize birthdays, anniversaries, and other special occasions for individuals. Sponsorships and Buy a Days can be purchased online.

Beyond Boobs! Has five groups, called support systems, for young women diagnosed with breast cancer before menopause that stretch from Virginia Beach to Richmond and even out to Moyock, N.C. The next areas the group hopes to expand to are Petersburg/Hopewell/Colonial Heights, Northern Virginia and Gloucester.
