La Tienda Hires New Chief Operating Officer

LaTienda_Jim_EastonA new Chief Operating Officer will join La Tienda, the Toano-based specialty importer of gourmet foods from Spain.

Jim Easton comes to La Tienda from Colonial Williamsburg, where he has served as vice president of the products division for the past 10 years. Before that, he worked with Toys R Us, Lord & Taylor and Dayton Hudson.

“We are thrilled to have Jim on board, given his vast experience in consumer product marketing and business development,” said Tim Harris, chief executive officer and co-owner of La Tienda, in a press release.

La Tienda, a family-owned business, was founded in Toano in 1996. It offers a selection of gourmet items from Spain through its website, catalog and retail store at 1325 Jamestown Road.

    Their anchovie stuffed olives are the BEST (and I don’t even like anchovies). And have you ever tried “smoked” olive oil with their crusty bread? YUM!

    Love, Love, Love Tapas. It would be wonderful to have a Tapas Restaurant here in the Burg. I am tired of having to travel to northern Virginia to enjoy this cuisine. Hope the grand opening will be soon!
