The York-Poquoson Sheriff’s Office is looking for two men who robbed Top’s China, located near the Williamsburg Outlet Mall, at gunpoint Monday, March 26.

Around 8:50 p.m. two men, one armed with a handgun, entered the restaurant located in the 6300 block of Richmond Road and held the employees at gunpoint, according to a press release. The police said both suspects were black; the suspect who was armed with the gun was described as heavyset and wearing a grey sweat suit with a Penn State logo written on the pants. The other suspect was described as having a thin build and wearing a black North Face jacket with a hood and a red baseball cap.

No one was injured during the robbery.

Was Geraldo Rivera wrong in his statements in the media? I think not, as we have all seen similar surveillance images of criminals over and over again. Sadly, this fashion statement comes directly from our youths role models, with the real reason for a hoodie being to hide once identity….like it or not.

Is it just me or does anyone else see a lack of consistency between the story and the image. The person in the photo doesn’t match the descriptions of either suspect mentioned in the article – other than the fact that he has on a hooded sweatshirt.
