Game On: Walsingham Fall Sports All-Conference Selections

Several of the Trojans’ athletes have been recognized on the 2011 all-Tidewater Conference teams for the fall sports season.

FIELD HOCKEY

Emily Smith and Sierra Encarnacion were selected to the All Tidewater Conference first team, and Emily Jackson earned an honorable mention. The Trojans finished fourth in the regular season and will host Norfolk Collegiate (the fifth seed) in the opening round of the TCIS Tournament Tuesday, Nov. 1  at 3:30 p.m. at Wanner Stadium

VOLLEYBALL

Senior Nicole Snyder was named to the All TCIS second team, while sophomore Maggie Harris earned an honorable mention. The team finished six in conference play and will travel to rival Hampton Roads Academy in the tournament opener on Tuesday at 6 p.m.

GIRLS TENNIS

Kristin Dantlzer and Carla Shrader both earned second-team honors on the All-TCIS team/ The Trojans will finish up the regular season this Tuesday at Huntington Park.

BOYS SOCCER

Junior Brandon LaRose was named to the All-TCIS second team after leading the Trojans in goals (3) and assists (2). Walsingham did not advance to the conference tournament after a ninth place regular-season finish.

SAILING

Walsingham girls’ athletic director Jessica Spadafora-Boone said the school has received word that the varsity sailing team has landed a berth to the 2011 Great Oaks National Regatta in New Orleans.
