Kingsmill Resort General Manager Robin Carson will become chairperson for the Triangle’s regional marketing task force starting in December.
The Williamsburg Area Destination Marketing Committee uses its Marketing Resource Task Force, soon to be headed by Carson, to plan the marketing strategy for the Triangle using the local $2 per night room tax and private funds. Carson will replace outgoing chairperson Kristi Olsen, York County’s Tourism Development Manager.
“Robin is a veteran strategist with global marketing experience,” said John Reilly, chairman of the Williamsburg area Destination Marketing Committee. “In today’s competitive tourism market, she possesses the leadership and marketing acumen to position the Williamsburg region as a leading family destination.”
Carson oversees all operations pertaining to Kingsmill Resort in Williamsburg. She began her career at Busch Gardens in Williamsburg more than 30 years ago, and held senior leadership positions at SeaWorld Parks and Entertainment properties around the United States. She served as vice president of marketing for the company in 2003. Carson assumed the general manager position at Kingsmill Resort in 2006.
