County Urges Limited Driving Through Sunday

County emergency officials continue to urge residents to avoid driving since conditions on secondary roads remain hazardous.

 

Here’s an update on James City County facilities and operations for Sunday, January 31:

The James City/Williamsburg Community Center will be open. The James River Community Center and County parks will be closed.   For updates, call (757) 259-4200 for Community Centers and (757) 259-5360 for park operations.

County Convenience Centers located on Tewning Road, Jolly Pond Rd. and Toano are closed.

Williamsburg Regional Library locations are closed.

County closings and weather-related information will be posted on the James City County Web site; JCC TV48, Facebook and the County’s emergency hotline, (757) 875-2424.

County residents should sign up their email, cell phones and pagers to receive local emergency alert information at www.jccalert.org. By registering, one can receive information during emergency conditions. Text messaging charges may apply.

    So, if the county is asking for limited driving on Sunday, why did the Rec Center open?????
