With Christmas over it’s time to get rid of the once-live trees – tree recycling is offered in the Historic Triangle, but a little differently for each locality.
York County: Residents should have their bare trees out at the curb by 7 a.m. Monday, Jan. 4. Trees will be collected sometime between Monday and Friday.
Williamsburg: Collection will be curbside on two Mondays – January 4 and 11. Residents should have their trees out before 7 a.m.
James City County: There is a tree recycling program, but it’s not curbside. Residents will have to drop off bare trees at any of the three convenience centers during normal operating hours. You can do that now through January 31, with all centers closed on Jan. 1. Centers and hours are: 107 Tewning Road, Monday from 8 a.m. to noon; Tues. through Sat. from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m.; and closed Sundays; 1204 Jolly Pond Road, 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. daily; and 185 Industrial Boulevard (Hankins Industrial Park), 8 a.m. to 4 p.m., daily.
