League Announces Candidate Forum Schedules

The League of Women Voters of the Williamsburg Area has released its fall election candidates night schedule.

Williamsburg-James City School Board

Two candidates are vying for a seat to represent the Powhatan District. Incumbent Joe Fuentes faces challenger Gualano Davis. The forum will be held Thursday, Oct. 8 at 7 p.m. at the James City County Library in Toano. This race is nonpartisan.

93rd District House of Delegates

Incumbent Phil Hamilton, under siege recently because of questions surrounding legislation he supported for an Old Dominion University program that, once approved, then hired him, faces Democratic challenger Robin Abbott, a Newport News attorney. The forum is Wednesday, Oct. 14 at 7 p.m. at the Williamsburg Regional Library on Scotland Street in the city.

64th District House of Delegates

Three candidates are running for this seat: incumbent and Democrat Bill Barlow; Republican challenger Stan Clark, an Isle of Wight supervisor; and Independent Green candidates Albert Burckard, Jr., a retired U.S. Army colonel from Isle of Wight County. This forum is Thursday, Oct. 22 at 7 p.m. and will be held at the Williamsburg Regional Library on Scotland Street in the city.
