VDOT Lane Closure Forecast: May 31-June 6

In an effort to keep you informed, VDOT publishes the following scheduled highway lane closures that may affect traffic in Hampton Roads. These closures are subject to change due to weather conditions and other unforeseen events. Other closures may occur which do not appear on this report.

JAMES CITY COUNTY

Route 60 East/West  – Motorists should expect alternating lane closures from the Route 60/Route 30/Route 143 Intersection (Anderson’s Corner) to Route 620 west bound, and from the New Kent County line to Route 657 (Ivy Hill Road) east bound for concrete pavement repair, Monday through Friday, from noon to 6 p.m. The project is expected to last through November 2009.

Route 60 East/West – Motorists should expect a single lane closure, both east and west bound at Route 610 for milling and paving operations, Monday, June 1, through Friday, June 5, from 7 a.m. to 9 p.m.

JAMES RIVER BRIDGE

Route 17 North – Motorists should expect a single lane closure at the James River Bridge abutment for gate installation, Monday, June 1, through Friday, June 5, from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.

HAMPTON ROADS BRIDGE-TUNNEL

I-64 East/West – Motorists should expect shoulder closures at the Hampton Roads Bridge-Tunnel for substructure inspection, Monday, June 1, through Thursday, June 4, from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m.

NORFOLK

I-64 East/West – Motorists should expect mobile lane closures from 15th View to Northampton Boulevard, including I-564, for pothole repair, Monday, June 1, from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.

I-264 East – Motorists should expect a single lane closure at the Broad Creek Bridge for Light Rail Construction, Monday, June 1, through Friday, June 5, from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.
