York Crime Line Looking for a Little Help

A security camera captured this photo of a suspect in a Feb. 11 residential burglary during which a credit card was taken.

The York-Poquoson Sheriff’s Office needs information on the following crimes.

Sometime between Monday night, Feb. 23, and the following morning someone stole two stabilizer cylinders from a Case backhoe located at a construction site in the 100 block of Reserve Way in the Bruton area of York County.

These stabilizer cylinders were described as being professionally removed by someone with knowledge regarding the piece of equipment. These cylinders are used to lower the stabilizer legs on the backhoe.

Police are also looking for information about a Feb. 11 home burglary in the 200 block of Moss Avenue in the Seaford area of York County.

The victim told police she’d left her residence around 8:30 a.m. and returned about two hours later to find someone had entered the home through an open window. The suspect(s) stle a Toshiba laptop, a change jar with an undisclosed amount of money and a credit card.

Around 7 p.m. that day the credit card was used at the Chick-fil-A restaurant on Jefferson Avenue in Newport News. A security camera was able to capture the suspect as he used the card. Exterior security cameras also caught a photo of what may be the suspect’s vehicle.
