Tribe Hosts Georgia State in Televised Contest

W&M and Georgia State – 5 p.m. – Saturday, Jan. 31, at Kaplan Arena.
Williamsburg – The William and Mary men’s basketball team will play its second of three straight home games against Georgia State on Saturday, Jan. 31. Tip-off is slated for 5 p.m. at Kaplan Arena.
The contest will be televised on WSKY Channel 4 and Comcast/Charter Sports Southeast. The Tribe-Panther tilt will also be available over the Web at ESPN360.com.
W&M dropped the opening game of its three-game homestand, 69-56, on Jan. 28 to Towson.
The Green and Gold was forced to play without the services of second-leading scorer David Schneider. Junior Danny Sumner led the Tribe attack with 19 points, while freshman Quinn McDowell scored a career-best 16 points on 6-of-7 shooting from the floor and 3-of-3 from 3-point range.
W&M shot 47.8 percent from the field and hit eight 3-pointers, but could not overcome a rash of turnovers and poor free throw shooting. Georgia State is coming off a 64-47 loss at Drexel on Jan. 28. Trey Hampton was the lone Panther in double figures with 10 points on 5-of-8 shooting to go along with four blocked shots.
