Williamsburg – On Tuesday, Dec. 23, 2008, Eva Odell Fauntleroy, answered the Master’s Call and closed her eyes. She is now resting in the arms of our loving Savior and shall dwell in the House of the Lord for all eternity. Her life began Oct. 17, 1935, the daughter of the late Emma and Lloyd Cowles, of James City County. She was a lifetime resident of the area and a dedicated member of Zion Baptist Church in Lightfoot, VA. She also was a member of the Friendship Gospel Choir and The Eveready Gospel Group. She retired from the Williamsburg Pottery Factory after many dedicated years of service.
She was also preceded in death by her husband, Earl Fauntleroy and sister, Alice Richardson. She leaves to cherish her precious memories her sisters, Edith Cowles, Sherry Bervine, Rosa Cowles and Emma Cowles; brothers, Floyd Cowles (Joyce), Albert Cowles (Gwen) and Calvin Cowles; nieces, nephews and cousins; devoted friends, Clementine Darden and Ruby Fauntleroy; and a host of other loving relatives and many devoted friends.
A funeral service will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Tuesday, Dec. 30, 2008, in Zion Baptist Church, with the Rev. Horace Suber and the Rev. Morris Randall officiating. Interment will follow in Williamsburg Memorial Park. Family and friends will assemble at 111 Olde Colonial Drive, on Tuesday, by 12:00 noon. Mrs. Fauntleroy may be viewed in the funeral home on Monday, from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. Professional service entrusted to the staff of Whiting’s Funeral Home, Williamsburg, 757-229-3011.
