All Quiet at Sadler Center

A helicopter hovered and circled over the campus of the College of William and Mary and the City of Williamsburg for over an hour, and various sirens heard nearby might have caused residents to wonder, but the Sadler Center opened and closed without incident yesterday after an anonymous threat.

The College reported the anonymous threat on Friday, September 26th, saying they had received word “that there would be violence in the vicinity of the Sadler Center on September 28, 2008.”

Since learning of the threat, William and Mary Police had been working closely with the Federal Bureau of Investigation, the Virginia State Police, Williamsburg Police and James City County Police to investigate and determine the best course of action.

WYDaily will continue to monitor the situation with the police and campus officials.
