The James City Police Department is investigating three July break-ins of antique businesses in the upper or western portion of the county.
The first occurred at the Lightfoot Antique Mall in the 7000 block of Richmond Road, between 5 p.m. July 15 and 8:45 a.m. July 16. Cash, pocket watches, collector coins, knives, jewelry and belt buckles were reported missing.
The second break-in occurred at Charlie’s Antiques in the 7700 block of Richmond Road, between 5:15 p.m. July 21 and 9 a.m. July 22. Missing from this business is cash, a laptop computer, jewelry and a Marlin rifle, model 336, .44 Magnum.
The third break-in occurred, again at the Lightfoot Antique Mall, between 10 p.m. July 23 and 9 a.m. July 24. Shark’s teeth and more collector’s coins were taken.
Several thousands of dollars in cash and property were taken from all three businesses.
