Yorktown Announces July 4 Schedule
Yorktown Fireworks

The 29th annual Yorktown Fourth of July fireworks display over the York River will begin at 9:15 p.m. Organizers say the best viewing areas are along the Yorktown Waterfront and at the Yorktown Victory Monument. The Beach Picnic Area will be closed this year, as it is being used as the launch site for the fireworks show.

Visitors are urged to arrive in Yorktown no later than 6:30 p.m. Traffic volumes will ultimately cause Yorktown to reach its parking capacity, at which point the roads leading into the village – Cook Road and the Colonial Parkway – will be closed to incoming traffic.

Visitors arriving early for the fireworks will find the following activities:

  • 6 p.m. – Elvis Impersonation by Charlie Dunn at Riverwalk Landing
  • 6:30 to 9:15 p.m. – Music by The Rhondels featuring Edgar Justus at Riverwalk Landing
  • 7 p.m. – Performance by The Fifes and Drums of York Town at the Yorktown Victory

    Monument

  • 8 to 9:15 p.m. – Patriotic Concert by the United States Air Force Heritage of

America Band from Langley Air Force Base at the Victory Monument

  • 9:15 p.m. – 29th Annual Fireworks Display over the York River
