WILLIAMSBURG, Va. – Colonial Williamsburg has released its schedule of events for this year’s Fourth of July Celebration.
At 10 a.m. on July 4 on Market Square, “A Salute to the States” offers a salute to the original 13 colonies with a Fifes and Drums performance and cannon fire. At 12:30 p.m. the Declaration of Independence is read to the citizens of Williamsburg at the Capitol.
At 7:45 p.m., “Music for Fireworks” features a concert of patriotic music with Colonial Williamsburg’s Fifes and Drums and the alumni group. Fireworks begin at 9:15 p.m. and last approximately 20 minutes.
Guests are encouraged to bring a blanket or a lawn chair.
On July 4, guests are encouraged to park in the Visitor Center and take Colonial Williamsburg’s buses. The Blue Line service operates from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. with limited service from 1 to 8 p.m. The Blue Line stops at 8 p.m. The Red Line service to the Governor’s Palace shuttle stop runs from 9 a.m. to 8:45 p.m. with limited service from 4 to 8:45 p.m. The Red Line stops at 8:45 p.m. All service resumes at 10:45 p.m.
